There will be a new look at Crystal Springs Golf Course this year, but it has nothing to do with the course.

It’s in the clubhouse, where the Stonefield bar and meeting rooms have been taken over by Tom and Susie Jackson of the Hotel Seymour.

The facility is now called Jackson Point Sports Bar and Grill at Crystal Springs. For now, the name is the main change, but there are bigger changes coming.

Tom said the facility would change to a sports bar and grill with a larger menu, including homemade pizza. The facility will also include small banquet rooms.

The physical changes will come later this year, when the bar will be moved to the large banquet room overlooking the golf course. The current bar area will become another banquet room.

“We have to wait on that because there are some commitments (for banquet rooms) that are coming up, and we don’t want to inconvenience those people,” Jackson said.

The rooms will be aimed at office and holiday parties, rehearsal dinners and other groups of 120 or less.

The Jacksons will split time for now between the hotel and golf course as the new place is established.

“The golf course approached us,” he said. “There are a lot of good places to eat in town and we wanted to give people another venue to go out to.”

He said the couple could would not cut back on their work at the hotel and would concentrate more on that after the new facility is running smoothly.

The facility is already smoke free in advance of the state law barring smoking in restaurants and bars that will take effect this summer.
