Seymour girls win Bay indoor crown

Seymour, on its home floor, easily captured the girls half of the Bay Conference indoor track championship April 8.
The Thunder had 107 points to West De Pere’s 69.5 and Luxemburg-Casco’s 67.
Winners for the Thunder included Bridget Murphy in the 400 meters, Justine Mehojah in the 55 hurdles, Shelby Nagel in the 200 hurdles, the 1,600 relay, Melanie Behnke in the long jump and Ashley Effa in the pole vault.
The Seymour boys finished sixth with 46 points. West De Pere had 120 to win, 15 points ahead of Luxemburg-Casco. The Thunder did not have any individual winners.
n On April 13, the Thunder opened its outdoor season as the girls team downed Marinette, 74-58, with Luxemburg-Casco scoring 42.
Winners were Behnke in the 100 and long jump, Alaina Murphy in the 400, Effa in the 800 and pole vault, Mehojah in the 100 and 300 hurdles and high jump, the 1,600 and 3,200 relays, Mandy Trautman in the discus and Melanie Wichman in the shot put.
In the boys meet, Luxemburg-Casco had 110 points to 47 for Seymour and 29 for Marinette. Sean Wagner won the 3,200, the 3,200 relay team won, and Grant Havard doubled in the shot put and discus.
