Thunder seeded sixth in soccer regional

Seymour will enter WIAA Division 2 regional soccer play as a No. 6 seed Tuesday.
The Thunder will travel to No. 3 Clintonville for a 4 p.m. match. The winner will face the winner of Tuesday’s Appleton Xavier (No. 2)-Northland Pines (No. 7) match on Thursday.
In the other half of the bracket, Fox Valley Lutheran is the top seed and hosts Freedom (No. 8), while Mosinee (No. 4) hosts Waupaca (No. 5).
The sectional final is Oct. 23 at Stevens Point.

Lance Burch scored an unassisted goal in the second minute of overtime as the Thunder edged Luxemburg-Casco at home.
Alex Dantinne had four saves for the Spartans.

On Thursday at Marinette, the Marines picked up their third Bay Conference win of the season. Seymour fell to 4-15-1 overall, 0-11-1 in the Bay.
Marinette scored early in the first half on a direct free kick by Chris Delloraine. Thunder goalie Bryce Woldt stopped a penalty kick midway through the half, but goals by Delorraine made the score 3-0 at halftime.
