One person was hospitalized following an accident involving four-vehicles on WIS 54 at 3:17 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.

Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department reports say the driver of one vehicle is believed to have been affected by a medical condition.

The vehicle driven by Richard J. Prokash, Greenleaf, was westbound on WIS 54 when it struck the rear end of another vehicle at the intersection with Miller Road. The car then swiped the rear of a second vehicle and careened onto the shoulder, throwing up a stone which hit the fourth vehicle involved.

Prokash’s car then left the highway and landed in the ditch.

He was trapped in the vehicle, but was freed by rescue crews from Black Creek and was flown to an area hospital for treatment.

The driver of the second vehicle, Judi Hansen, 48, N5419 WIS 76 was also transported to an area hospital. No one else was injured.
