Alexa Pahlow
Alexa Pahlow is the recipient of the Advertiser Community News & Times-Press 2012 Scholarship. She was awarded the scholarship at the Shiocton High School Senior Awards Night on Wednesday, May 9 by ACN Publisher Ken Hodgden.
Pahlow graduates ranked 12th in her class from Shiocton High School. She plans on attending the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and major in education.
“I have chosen this path because of my appreciation for children and their different areas of needs, Pahlow wrote in her application letter. “Perhaps by being a part of their everyday learning process, I can make their lives more meaningful and valuable.”
Pahlow has a long record of extracurricular activities, sports and community/church organizations.
She has served as president of Students With Alternative Thinking, being president of SWAT her junior and senior years. She has been a three-year member of the National Honor Society.
Alexa has played basketball, volleyball and softball all four years, serving as captain at least one year in all three.
She has 440 hours of community service in a wide variety of organizations.
Alexa is the daughter of Douglas and Cheryl Pahlow, Shiocton.
