The Seymour Woman’s Club announced the 2012 winners of four $600 scholarships for Seymour High School seniors at the club’s Spring Banquet on Monday, May 14, at Jackson Point. The winners are: Erica Blohm, daughter of Cory and Jim Blohm; Margaret Blohm, daughter of Lisa and Steven Blohm; Emily Herman, daughter of Karen and Fred Herman; and Michael Hornick, son of Vicky and Karl Hornick.
Each student will receive the award after completion of an academic semester. All seniors at SCHS were eligible for consideration.
Erica Blohm plans to attend UW-Madison and major in biology and Spanish. She played golf, basketball, and soccer, earning most valuable player in golf; was active in FFA and FBLA; and competed on the state level in National History Day.
Margaret Blohm intends to attend UW-Madison. She was captain and most valuable player of the swim team, attended Badger Girls State, and was a member of the Spanish club and diversity council.
Emily Herman plans to major in chemistry and vocal performance at St. Norbert College. Active in music, she is the band president, has performed at state in 16 events, and starred in the school musicals for three years. She has also participated in National History Day, Science Club, and the Robotics Club.
Michael Hornick plans to study English and business at UW-Madison. He was a representative to Badger Boys State, played football, and participated in FBLA and the Student Association for Learning Spanish Appreciation.
