Throughout the month of March the Seymour Community Museum has over 175 vintage calendars on display. The calendars were given out by Seymour business as advertisements for their products or services. They also reflect the social and economic history of the area. Six auto dealers are represented ranging from Cook’s to Vandenberg’s. Several grocery stores, banks, and mercantile businesses are also featured.
The oldest calendar is 1912 from Hallada’s Meat Market, a fixture on Main Street throughout the first half of the 20th Century. The museum welcomes visitors on Sundays from 1-4 p.m. during the winter months and will be open on Easter Sunday. There is no admission charge. Donations are appreciated.
