Black Creek Advancement Association has announced it will join the list of those supporting the Salvation Army’s local fundraising effort by participating in a matching funds event. The BCAA will be matching donations made to the Red Kettle ringing station at Sal’s Foods in Black Creek on Dec. 23 and 24, up to a total of $250.
The Salvation Army Service Extension unit located in Black Creek provides aid in all 13 rural areas of Outagamie County and has a $50,000 goal for its 2013 Red Kettle campaign. With its matching funds pledge, the Advancement Association joins Elexco Inc. and two anonymous donors that sponsored matching funds events on Dec. 13 and 20.
If you haven’t yet made your donation to the local Red Kettle campaign here in northern Outagamie County, please consider making it at Sal’s on Dec. 23 and 24 to double-up the power of your donation! Other Red Kettles tied to the local service unit are located in Hortonville, Seymour, Kaukauna and Freedom.
Black Creek Advancement Association is a civic group with more than 75 years of history fundraising, sponsoring activities and supporting causes in and around the Black Creek area. The group conducts the annual Citizen of the Year program and village-wide rummage sale, is a founder of the annual Grudge Match softball game, and provides financial and other support for a number of community events, including the annual Halloween party, visit from Santa and Family Daze. The BCAA also supports youth and family programming by Community Family Resource Center, quilting efforts by the Country Apples Home & Community Education association and landscaping efforts at the Black Creek community center/library by BC Gardeners. The group’s newest endeavor is the creation of a veteran’s memorial, a project it will launch in conjunction with Duhm-Masch American Legion Post 332 in early 2014.
