Bent Arrow 4-H
The Bent Arrow 4-H Club met on Monday, May 1.
Our guest speaker was Karen Hovie. She talked to the club about vegans. We learned about why there are vegans and what they eat. We were able to sample some of the recipes that she makes.
Reports were given on 4-H activities. Members have attended many 4-H events: cake decorating project meeting, Black Otter clean up with the 4-H Youth Leaders, 4-H Youth Leader meeting, and the clothing, knitting, crocheting, and foods revues. Two members did very well at the Revues. Eli Lemke won one of the mini chef awards for the foods revue.
The Golden Hook for crocheting was won by Katie Stille.
Members also attended the Y-overnight with Fast Trackers 4-H club, and garbage pick-up in Appleton as well as the Dairy Showmanship clinic and shooting sports activities.
Club members have been busy working on fair projects.
The club is continuing to collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.
Club families were encouraged to save plastic caps to help out the Fairview 4-H Club. Five hundred and fifty pounds of plastic caps are needed to make a recycled bench.
Online entries are now open for the Outagamie County Fair. Entries are due May 25.
Ajay showed the club some computer tricks.
Nerf guns was the topic of Taj’s report.
Our next meeting will June 5, 2017.
