Area players receive State recognition

Senior Trevor Cornell of Seymour was named to the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team.
To qualify, a player must be a junior or a senior, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher and receive all-conference recognition.
As for the Wisconsin Fastpich Softball Coaches Association, Shiocton’s Sydney Wilcox and Tina Ubl earned first team All-State.
Division 3-5 players make up this Small School team.
Wilcox was recognized for her batting average of .458 She hit 14 doubles, five triples, nine home runs and had 30 RBI. As the pitching staff ace, Wilcox went 19-5 with a 1.21 earned run average. She pitched 156 2/3 innings with 37 walks and 240 strikeouts.
Ubl hit eight home runs, two triples and eight doubles. She batted .426 with 30 RBI.
