Legion Post 106 falls to 2-3 on the season

The Seymour Post 106 baseball team went 1-2 over the past two weeks to run its season record to 2-3. The weather has raised havoc with the schedule as the team has had three games postponed due to rain. Those games will be made up during the last half of the season, but that will present challenges to the depth of the pitching staff as the team will play eight games in 12 days.
Both the WIAA and Legion have adopted pitch count rules this season that require players to rest a set number of days after throwing a defined number of pitches. In some cases, a player may not be available to pitch until the 5th day after his last outing depending upon the number of pitches he threw that day. In previous years, pitchers were allowed to pitch 12 innings during any three consecutive day period.
Ashwaubenon 8
Seymour 4

Five Seymour errors led to five unearned runs and was the major factor in the loss for Post 106 on June 26. Seymour pitching also walked six Ashwaubenon hitters, with three of those base runners scoring.
Zach Potter was 2-for-2 with a walk to lead the Seymour offense. Caleb Derus added a double and RBI. Seymour’s Kendal Lecker went 2-for-4.
New London 1
Seymour 0

Seymour pitching worked out of jams in four of the first six innings to keep the game at 0-0 on June 20.
New London stranded 11 runners through the first six innings, but scored the winning run in the top of the 7th inning on a walk, infield hit, and then a RBI single to center field.
Seymour had a chance to tie the game in their half of the 7th after Sam Blank doubled to right center, but a ground out ended the game.
Jake Hoier held Post 106 to two hits with no walks. Both teams played error free baseball.
Seymour 10
Oconto Falls 0 (5 inn.)

Caleb Derus held Oconto Falls to only three hits while striking out six to earn the complete game victory in a game played at Rock Ledge Park on June 16.
Sam Blank hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd inning to put Post 106 up by a score of 7-0.
Blank finished the day at 2-for-3 with a double, HR, and 3 RBI’s.
