Seymour Legion goes 1-3 over past week

The Seymour Post 106 Legion team went 1-3 over the past week, dropping its season record to 3-6. The team continues its strong offensive game, pounding out 46 hits and scoring 28 runs in the four games played over the past eight days.
Seymour pitching has struggled with control, giving up 18 walks and three hit batters during the 4-game span. Of those 21 base runners, 11 went on to score runs.

Seymour traveled to New London due to wet playing conditions to play Waupaca on Thursday night, July 6, for a West Division matchup.
Four Seymour errors led to four unearned runs, and proved to be the decisive factor in the win for Waupaca.
Post 106 had eight hits and six walks, but stranded 10 men on base.

This game was a carbon copy of their previous game against Kaukauna as Seymour hosted Waupaca on July 5.
After going down 9-2 through five innings, Post 106 scored eight times in the bottom of the 6th inning and took a 10-9 lead into the 7th. But Waupaca would come back to score two runs in the top of the 7th on a walk and three hits to take the lead.
Seymour advanced a runner into scoring position in the bottom of the 7th inning, but could not drive him home. Post 106 had 12 hits, but stranded seven runners on base.
Four Seymour errors led to three unearned runs.
Kaukauna 10
Seymour 9

After being down 7-2 through three innings, Seymour scored four runs in the 4th inning to draw within a run of the host Kaukauna on June 30.
Kaukauna tacked on a run in the bottom of the 6th inning, but Post 106 scored three runs in the top of the 7th to take a 9-8 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning, and needed three outs to secure a win.
Kaukauna would score two runs on two walks, a fielder’s choice and two hits to pull out the victory.
Seymour pitching issued eight walks and hit one batter on the night. Those free passes would prove to be decisive in the outcome of the game as five of those base runners scored.

Shawano 1

Austin Marcks pitched a complete game, striking out six while only giving up one run as Seymour hosted Shawano on June 29.
Post 106 pounded out 13 hits enroute to the dominating victory.
Justin Krull, Trevor Cornell, Caleb Derus, and David Michaelson all had multi-hit games.
16U Legion Regional
The Seymour Legion 16U team will play in the Bay Port regional beginning on July 12 at BP High School, 2710 Linesville Road, Green Bay.
Seymour will play against St. Mary Central (Game 3) on Bay Port Diamond No. 2 at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
Game 3 winner plays in Game No. 6 on July 13 at 5:15 on the main diamond. Game 3 loser plays at 3 p.m. on Diamond No. 2.
Game 6 winner advances to Game No. 9 on July 14 at 3 p.m. with the winner advancing to the championship rounds on July 15. First game at 11 a.m., and if needed, second game at 1:30 p.m.
