The very first reunion of Sunnynook Grade School was held on Saturday, July 1, 2017.
In attendance were 44 classmates with the oldest being 93 year old, Emerson Marcks, who graduated in 1938.
Youngest attending was Emerson’s great, great niece, Cindy Marcks-Brantley.
Miriam Tubbs-Burchell traveled the furthest driving from International Falls, Minnesota. The person who traveled the shortest distance was Faye Mueller who walked across her yard to attend.
Sunnynook School was one of those classic one room/two room rural grade schools. The first classes were held in 1884. The final classes were held in 1967. In between, over 500 students attended the school. Approximately 40 teachers taught during the 83 years of elementary education.
The building was located on County X in the Town of Cicero, Outagamie County. The same building is now the Cicero Town Hall.
