Cross country teams place fourth

The Seymour Thunder Cross Country Boys and Girls ran another invitational meet on Tuesday, September 5.
The invitational was the “Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers Invite” held at the Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School. The girls and boys JV and Varsity teams ran together in a combined Varsity race.
Medals were given to the top 30 runners out of each race. Seymour’s Cross Country team ended up taking home a total of six medals (three won by the girls and another three won by the boys). The girls who recieved metals were: Laura Spaude, placing 10th; Samantha Eisch placing 15th; and Elizabeth Zahn placing 27th.
The boys who received medals were: Riley Volkman finishing 4th; James Baumgart placing 19th; and Blake Linsmeyer placing 28th.
Out of the 14 overall teams that competed, the Seymour Thunder Cross Country Boys and Girls both placed 4th. The Girls team ending with a total of 143 points and the boys ending with a total of 128 points.
