Lady Chiefs fall to Laconia in battle of ranked basketball teams

It was a battle of ranked teams as Shiocton, No.6 in Division 4, would fall to Division 3 Laconia. ranked No. 7, on Monday, Nov. 27 in a non-conference game.
The poll had both teams highly ranked with high expectations.
The Lady Chiefs would take a halftime lead of 20-18 only to be outscored by Laconia by 11 points in the second half.
Senior forward Tina Ubl would lead Shiocton with 13 points.
Seven other players would score with Monika Spencer adding seven points while Jackie Korth scored five while Hailey Schroth and Leigha Young both chipping in four.
Laconia’s scoring threat of Kiarra Otto proved to be just that as she would score a game high 31 points to head her team to victory.
Shiocton will start CWC-8 conference play on Tuesday,, Dec. 5 when they host Amhert and then travel to Weyauwega-Fremont on Dec. 8. Both games are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
