Black Creek Veterans Park to receive a pavilion

The Black Creek Village Board Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by President Steve Rettler.
The minutes of previous meetings were approved.
Trustee Stacie De Voe gave an update on the Rural Fire Committee monthly meeting. The fire department and ambulance are planning on putting up a mailbox.
De Voe gave an update on the Library. Attorney Sweeney will be available the second Monday of each month from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the library for citizens with legal questions.
Ruth Olson approached the board on the patrol from Black Creek Police Department in Nichols. She had concerns about a matter that occurred in Nichols. The Board recommended that Ruth brings her concerns to the Village of Nichols Board as the questions pertained to their jurisdiction.
Enuff Said Bar approached the board on the closure of Railroad Street on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. for a Grand Opening Celebration. Approval was granted.
Chris Evers from Fast Wash approached the board regarding the water meter at the facility. In 2016 he requested a 1.5 inch meter be installed at this location. When the meter was installed in 2016, a 2 inch meter was installed instead. Fast Wash has been billed for a 2 inch meter for over 2 years. He had requested the meter changed again in the Fall of 2017. Nothing was done. He provided documentation evidencing these requests. He is requesting a refund from the Village of Black Creek utility in the amount of $131.15 per month for 23 months totaling $3,016.45. A motion to approve a refund in the amount of $3,016.45 was approved.
Rod Lorenz and the Black Creek Business Association formed an Ad Hoc committee on the recommendation from the Village President to review the future of the municipal building. The Ad Hoc committee reached out to Allyson Watson from the UW Extension to assist them in this review. Allyson Watson presented a slide presentation to the Board on the considerations needed and the steps involved in either building a new facility or updating the present facility.
Discuss was held regarding the resolution for construction of a pavilion at Veterans Park. This resolution is required as part of the grant application for which the Village had approved at the April regular board meeting.
Operator Licenses for the following persons were approved Individuals are: Christian Alberts, Linda Schmidt, Tanya Thompson, Ryan Schomish, and Stephanie Robertsen. The Operator License for Sara Kluz was denied.
Class B Retail License for Peg’s Midtown and Enuff Said were approved.
The Temporary Banner/Sign Permit for the Outagamie County Fair was approved.
De Voe explained the plastic bag recycle collection for park bench program. Collection bins will be placed at the library and clerk’s office.
