Shiocton School has a new athletic director. His name is Sam Nisler.
Nisler has been hired as a 50 percent seventh grade math and English Language Arts (ELA) teacher and a 50 percent athletic director.
Throughout his teaching career Nisler had always liked working with kids, another passion of his was sports. Nisler said, “I was looking into more of an athletic role after obtaining my master’s degree, like an athletic director, to reach both aspects.”
Nisler previously worked in Fond du Lac at Woodworth Middle School as a math teacher and coach for multiple sports for the last three years.
Nisler himself has been involved in sports; he is currently in semi-pro football and years ago he was in club soccer.
Nisler is originally from New Holstein, and currently lives in Milwaukee but is in the transition of moving closer to Shiocton with his serious significant other (Katie) in the near future.
Nisler is excited about the upcoming completion of the multi-purpose facility. “It’s definitely going to be utilized, and I think the kids will be very excited. Since it is fitness and health related, I know Shiocton sports will benefit from it, although, at first, it may be a challenge to manage all the different teams and times to use the weight room equally and efficiently.”
Nisler said he is very excited to come back to the small town atmosphere, and he will embrace his new role as athletic director as well as seventh grade math and ELA teacher.
