The Seymour track and field team had their first home meet of the season on March 21.
Three schools participated in the indoor event and these schools were Seymour, Shiocton and Weyauwega-Fremont. Weyauwega-Fremont took first for the girls’ team scores followed by Shiocton and then Seymour. For the boys’ team scores Seymour took first followed by Shiocton and then Weyauwega-Fremont.
In the girls’ 55 meter dash Shiocton sophomore Brehanna Cohen took first with a time of 7.97.
Brianna Scholz, Shiocton sophomore, took first place in the girls’ 55 meter hurdles (10.65) and the 200 meter hurdles (37.88).
Erin Schuh, Seymour senior, placed first in the girls’ pole vault with a jump of 9-00.00.
Seymour junior Joey Coonen took first place in the boys’ 55 meter dash with a time of 6.63.
In the boys’ 400 meter dash Seymour junior Cole Solem brought home a first place with a time of 1:06.94.
Riley Volkman, Seymour senior, earned first place in the boys’ 800 meter run with a time of 2:30.40.
The boys’ 1600 meter run was won by Seymour sophomore Blake Linsmeyer with a time of 5:29.00.
Shiocton senior Reis Stingle brought home two first place finishes winning the boys’ 55 meter hurdles (8.25) and the boys’ 200 meter hurdles (29.25).
The Seymour boys’ relay teams did well at competition winning the three relays. The boys’ 4×200 meter relay was won by Seymour’s Josh Molle (junior), Daniel Krull (sophomore), Mason Vandekolk (freshman) and Logan Mattson (sophomore) with a time of 1:49.00. The Seymour relay team of Mason Krabbe (senior), Krull, Mattson and Ty Witthuhn (junior) won the boys’ 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4:20.16. The boys’ 4×800 meter relay was won by the Seymour team consisting of Volkman, Linsmeyer, Riley Clement (sophomore) and Jack Dudley (junior) with a time of 10:30.00.
Mattson also picked up a first place in the boys’ high jump with a jump of 6-02.00.
In the pole vault Shiocton junior Kaden Piechocki took the top spot with a jump of 9-00.00.
Witthuhn picked up two first place finishes winning the long jump with a jump of 18-10.00 and the triple jump with a jump of 39-02.50.
Seymour senior Cody Roskom took first in the boys’ shot put with a throw of 42-06.00.
